For the past 15 years my focus has been on producing functional pottery thrown on the potter’s wheel using high fire, brown stoneware. My work had been considered rustic and traditionally derivative pottery ware.

In 2002, after struggling to find the right glazing options for an electric environment, I became interested in white stoneware. This enabled me to make a fresh start. I became interested in design elements from my graphic design background and started to think about a line of ware as a whole entity and developed a palette that worked interchangeably. (ex: TH807).

In 2006 I changed the clay that I work with to porcelain and I created slump molds. I began to experiment with colored clay and porcelain slabs. I started designing my next line of work (ex: HB107). I am very excited about this direction. This line is a work in progress and I’m looking forward to the next bend in the road. I hope you will join in the journey.
