Sabina Magnus received a B.F.A. from Parsons School of Design in 1985 for Communication Design (graphics). Fifteen years of working in Manhattan as a graphic designer gives her work in the field of ceramics a designer’s eye.
After taking classes at Greenwich House Pottery for two years, she took a position teaching the medium and set out making functional wares, still very much interested in traditional rustic pottery.
More recently her graphic design background became a larger influence. After designing and producing a line of contemporary, streamlined bowls and vases, some large commercial accounts were landed.
Sabina Magnus currently lives and works in Brooklyn, N.Y. She teaches at Clayworks on Columbia located in Red Hook, Brooklyn and is an active member of The Brooklyn Potters.
